Math is a blessing in a world where opposites are true, where I can be too weak to admit that I am strong and strong enough to admit that I am weak. Self-deprecation comes cheap, because the world never asks for citation or corroboration. They'll take you at your word, willing to watch as you tell them there's nothing to see, turning away from cries of "Look! Look!" clamoring all around.
I can go on all day, stringing together pretty opposites like a John Lennon disciple. It comes easy to me. Too many hours listening to Paul Simon and R.E.M. saying nothing but saying it so well. It's a senseless sensibility, but it evokes the beauty we've stored up in our minds, waiting to be triggered by the right words, even in the wrong context. Sometimes we don't have to say something, because so many things have already been said. We can ride the wave. Language is easy and fun. Won't you play?
Today is not about language, however, it's about math. Today I am happy to increment. 35+1=36 (35++, 35+=1). February 16, 1971 is worth remembering. Becoming alive is the first step, after all.
Hello, friends. How are you today?
Later. Love.
P. S. - For the hardcore geeks out there let me clarify that I realize that "35" is a literal and is, therefore, not a valid lvalue. "35++" and "35+=1" are, therefore, errors in syntax. I should change them to "int x=35; x++;" and "int x=35; x+=1;" respectively. Thanks for stopping by.
