Daniel is studying Latin and philosophy in a compressed summer semester at a small, conservative, Catholic college. He's about to move to California to go to school fulltime in the Fall. He's getting a DVD projector for his laptop when he gets out there so he doesn't have to buy a television. He's going to watch sixteen foot movies on his wall. He's looking forward to Windows Vista so he can hook his computer to his X-Box. He drives a Honda hybrid, which works differently than the Toyota hybrids, though I didn't understand how. Daniel wants to be a Catholic priest and a canon lawyer. Good luck, Daniel.
Jill's looking at her feet. Julie's in the country healing the horses and basking by the waterfalls with the snakes. Brandon's catching the queen and, curious though that might be, Kat's asking no questions. Bella's staying put and Neil's dealing with the devil. Dustin's sowing all seven or eight of his wild oats, looking for two more. Asia's washing her XXXXX cat and Shari's pushing peanut butter. Michele's overhearing things and Greg's pimpin' Busta Groove. Heather's buying stock and Jake's cooling off. Karen's posting HOT pictures and getting bad service and Caitlin's on sabbatical. Tess is relocating, as is Abigail, while Kelly's being a shoulder for a friend. Trisha's doing better and Robbie's drawing pictures. Marisol is on her own and Amanda's an old soul. Peefer went MIA after learning that kids tend to exaggerate. Kassi's completing writing assignments, telling us where she's from, while Sarah's posting bunny pictures. Kehlers is breaking it to me gently while Supine's moving on to a better man (what a jerk). Sandra's plumbing. Toad's looking up and Summer's tearing up the floor before her trip. Bob's in Satan's clutches and Mike is... well, you just have to go check out Mike. He defies narration. Amanda's getting famous and dropping the F bomb. Matt has graduated and is thinking about writing. Shannon is distributing her evil mix tape and Thrusher has, with tears, left Japan for Hawaii and then back to the mainland US. Treespotter's quoting Neruda. Cathy's fighting Blogger to post pictures. Kim's fulfilling wholesale orders. Jody's spying on me at the coffee shop and Tiffany's inhabiting the shadow world.
Keeping up with you guys is not easy, you know. It's fun, but it's not easy. I hope there won't be a quiz later.
Hey, before I go, here's a poem I wrote a few months ago (I know, I know. Poetry. Blech!)
What I'd Like to Do
Lie down with me. I'd love to hear
you speak. I don't want to listen
to the words, I just want to hear
the sound. You talk about things I
don't need to know, and I'll watch
your lips move around the vowels.
I'll watch the muscles in your neck
move. I'll lie down beside you and
rest my head on your chest. I'll feel
your voice and your breath. I'll take
your hand and play with your fingers.
All you have to do is talk and let me
lie here quietly, for just a while.
After that, we'll do whatever you'd
like to do.
Okay. That's all.
Hello, friends. How are you today?
Later. Love.
