"You got enough material, if you add all your blogs together, to make a book."
It's a funny concept, that all you need to make a book is a certain volume of material. It betrays, I think, a fundamental misunderstanding of both writing and reading. Here is a person for whom a book is a collection of words. Here is a person that, if you asked them what sort of books they prefer, they'd say, "short ones". It reminds me of a friend who told me he couldn't watch The Lord of the Rings because it was too long. "I can only watch a movie for, like, an hour, and then I've got to get going." Wow. I can't even understand that.
It's exactly like the homeless man who told me the government was making toothpaste for "the soul." "It's about time," I replied. "They're gonna put it in the water, just like regular toothpaste," he said. The guy really had an inside track on things.
Today's entry is brought to you by the letter "why", and by the number "wow".
Hello, friends. How are you today?
Later. Love.
